D.A. Daugherty's Biography
I should begin this unofficial biography by saying that I don't like talking about myself, and that goes for writing about myself. My name is David Daugherty, and I've spent my entire life traveling. My dad was a member of the U.S. Air Force, and my mom spent her time taking care of my brother and I full-time. My parents did a great job encouraging my love of stories, and still do a very good job supporting this dream of mine.
When I grew up, I joined the Air Force, myself, and am still an active member doing the workaday cycle of fixing heating and air conditioning equipment and managing people. With all that traveling, the places I've been and the things I've seen have been a tremendous inspiration for me, from the hottest desert to the most open countryside.
My life as a writer started in earnest my senior year of high school. That first work I started I didn't come remotely close to finishing, and thank God for that. I didn't finish my first novel for years after that and-- well, let's just say I'm a much better writer now. I've always held the dream of being published close to my heart, and now that I am that dream has moved on to a much more lofty one. This dream is nothing short of the noble pursuit of quitting the day job.
Another dear wish of mine is that you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.
